Introduction:

Greetings!

Thanks for looking me up! I have been in the hobby since 1992 and have never really taken any time off except for a short stint in the army. So far my hamming has taken me through VHF / UHF simplex and repeater operation, APRS, Packet, Winlink, HF contesting /DXing/ragchewing, Tower work / climbing and antenna building. Lately I have drifted away from HF operation mainly because the bands are in really bad shape and moving into a smaller home with no room for a real shack. For the time being I am into repeater building and growing my fledgling repeater network , the Emergency Repeater System N5ERS. I have a nitty gritty little website up for that over at www.n5ers.net.

I am a Cisco Certified Network Engineer by trade and work with several other brands of equipment in a route/switch, firewall and VoIP capacity. This leads into my next ham adventure with AREDN http://www.aredn.org/. I hope to deploy this technology sometime in Spring 2017 to offer a better resiliancy for the Denton AREDN network as well as remote monitoring of my Grapevine repeater site.

When I am not playing ham radio, I am playing with my German Shepherd, Schultz, who is a ham in his own right. I refer to him as my wolf, since he looks like a wolf, acts like a wolf and sometimes even smells like a wolf.
